Actually, I own the place. Somebody stuck me with it. Yes it’s definitely in need of repair but good help is almost impossible to get these days, especially in Cuba. I heard hissing somewhere, might have been a gas line again, there have been explosions in there from time to time. You know, somebody lights a match and ka-boom. We just keep patching it up. On the other hand, the hissing might be from an air conditioner some tenant installed. The rest of the tenants just have to tough it out. No money left to renovate. Too bad because the building itself is sound.

I’ve been in that place and the radiator hisses. It’s getting a little old and creaky but it has a lot of character.

Interesting–why were you there? Far as I could tell, it’s just an apartment building.
