Drew Faust on Charlie Rose

I was playing tennis last night and didn’t get home till after 11, so I missed most of Drew Faust’s Charlie Rose appearance, seeing only about the last ten minutes.
My impression from those ten minutes: A job well done for DGF. She sounded relaxed and fluent in the issues. And most important—certainly most striking to me—she really looked good.
(I say that not because I’m shallow, but because on TV it’s 3/4 of the battle. No one really remembers what you say on TV, but they remember what you look like. Seriously—they’ve done studies.)
The president has spiffed herself up a lot, she’s dressing better, and somehow she looks younger. Botox? Cosmetic surgery? Or just great TV makeup?
And then, of course, Charlie Rose is so incredibly sycophantic and such an easy interviewer, it would be hard to not feel comfortable. When he asked Faust what “worried” her, she talked a bit about whether Americans are losing the ability to reflect deeply and in a sustained fashion. And Rose nodded and whispered, “I worry about that too.” It was a hilarious moment. I half-expected the two of them to put their hands on the table and start wringing.
Anyone see the full interview? And if so, what were your impressions?

While she goes on TV (and I agree does well), the bureaucracy at home grows. Another Provostlet.
This from a message to faculty from the Office for Scholarly Communication:
” Finally, Amy Brand, the OSC’s founding program manager has moved on to a new post in the provost’s office as Assistant Provost for Faculty Appointments. I am heavily indebted to Amy for her exceptional work in the first year of the OSC, and am pleased that she will stay on as a special adviser to the office.”
